I Just Transmigrated, and Now I’m Leading My Relatives in Rebellion

In the thirteenth year of Chongzhen, the bitter winter of the Little Ice Age blankets the north. After three years of severe drought, locusts ravage the land, and the local authorities demand grain like tigers. The people of Ligou Village have stripped the trees of their bark and eaten every last bit of Guanyin clay. They can only watch as their children starve to death one by one. Li Meng, a top salesman, wakes up as the clan chief of this impoverished village. The good news: He has a complete set of modern management and military knowledge. He knows how to make grand promises, brainwash people, and manage a team with KPIs. The bad news: His entire team consists of over a hundred poor relatives whose eyes gleam with hunger. The worse news: The county yamen's grain-collecting runners have given them three days. If they cannot pay, people will be seized as collateral. Kneel and starve to death, or stand up and get your head chopped off. Li Meng chooses a third path: He will lead his relatives in rebellion! His second uncle is a retired soldier who can teach them to form ranks. His cousin is a blacksmith who can forge blades and cannons. Another cousin is a peddler with informants all over the county. His younger female cousin once apprenticed under an itinerant physician and can save lives and treat wounds. Li Meng paints them a rosy picture: KPIs for farming, OKRs for storming cities, and land allotments as equity incentives. Other rebels rely on risking their lives. The Li Family Army relies on management. What Li Meng doesn't know is that the grain stockpiled in this county is tied to the balance of power across the entire north. His rebellion, which was only meant to help his relatives scrape together a living, will accidentally become a crucial piece in changing the fate of the realm. This is the story of a man leading his whole family of deadweight dependents out of the mountains and fighting his way to survival. It's not a heroic epic. It's about how a group of peasants on the verge of starvation manage to live with dignity in a world that devours people.
