A Strange Tale from One Side

If you don’t have the chops, don’t go looking for trouble. Here are three recommendations for reading this book. First, women are advised not to read it. This isn’t sexism: you may get scared after reading it. Second, men should read with caution, especially if you’re easily frightened. Third, if you live alone, don’t read it. You may start imagining things and get even more scared after reading it. This is entirely fictional and is for entertainment purposes only. Believe in science and firmly oppose superstition. (Take good advice and you’ll stay well fed. The author accepts no responsibility for any consequences of reading against this advice, including laughing so hard your stomach hurts.)
