Su Wan is the Underworld’s toughest holdout. Her main job is collecting rent; her side job is keeping vigil for her deceased husband.
The Underworld starts a demolition project, and the King of Hell sends a frail scholar to serve as its director and force her to reincarnate.
Su Wan spots a cinnabar mole on the scholar’s neck, identical to her late husband’s, and smiles.
That night, she ties the scholar up and livestreams their wedding ceremony. The whole internet hears her declare:
“I’m not tearing down the house. I’m keeping the man.”
“As for the management fees he owes for the past hundred years, my husband can work them off!”
From then on, the Underworld is turned upside down.
By day, the frail scholar coughs blood as he fills out reports. By night, she pins him down and makes him recall his past life.
Then the Heavenly Dao’s punishment strikes again. The scholar shields her with his body, and his memories return:
“Wanwan, don’t be afraid.”
“This time, I’ll be the one to tear down the heavens.”
