In the eyes of the gods, our universe is nothing more than a painting they casually alter. Every thousand years, the gods tire of their old work, erase everything, and paint a new picture.
The “Seven-Day Boundary Marker” is one such “discarded draft,” on the verge of being erased.
This is no underworld. It is an experimental world created ten thousand years ago by a world-weary “Painter God.” The Painter God wanted to create “the most perfect life” here, so on the seventh day of creation, they left everything behind and let the beings within the world evolve on their own, calling it “observation.” The god named this world “Remnants of Eden,” while its inhabitants call it the “Seven-Day Boundary Marker,” because no one knows when the gods will return and spend seven days wiping everything out completely.
For ten thousand years, the gods have never returned. The fundamental rules of the world, formed by the gods’ first strokes, have begun to malfunction. Time and space have formed a bizarre closed loop. To prevent the world from being annihilated completely, its core will, much like Gaia consciousness, activated a self-preservation program: “The Clear Cycle.”
Every seven days, the surface layer of the world’s time and space undergoes a “reset.” The memories and bodies of all beings who have not “awakened” are formatted, trapping them in a new cycle like NPCs. Only souls with powerful convictions or obsessions can retain a sliver of awareness through the cycle, and that sliver is the key to becoming “perfect life.”
