After working overtime for 72 straight hours, veteran office drone Lin Xiao is forcibly pulled into the “Devotee System,” a globally livestreamed Rule Horror world. The first scenario, “Kindhearted Retirement Home,” requires participants to “selflessly serve the elderly.” Lin Xiao discovers that the so-called “elderly” are actually man-eating monsters, and the rules repeatedly hint that “sacrificing your life is the highest virtue.” While the other participants meekly submit, Lin Xiao is so exhausted that she enters a state of “desireless, and therefore unyielding.” She argues the monster residents into questioning their very existence, and accidentally discovers that “freaking out and refusing to cooperate” can weaken the rules. Her “reverse manipulation” goes out on a livestream in the real world, setting the internet ablaze.
It's super cool. Although there are only nine chapters, there will be more to come. Wow, it's actually finished in nine chapters, I feel like it could really add more content haha. The author's writing style and the protagonist's character are very stable, and there is a beauty of mental stability.
