On a snowy, windswept night, a figure huddles beneath a bridge in the Forty-Nine City. He is He Yuzhu, known as the Four-Sided Courtyard’s God of War, and nicknamed “Silly Zhu.” His clothes are in tatters, his body is covered in injuries, and his stomach is empty. His beloved son, the ungrateful Banggeng, has beaten and kicked him out of the house. The properties in the courtyard and the restaurant have all been transferred to Banggeng. He’s old, can’t be bled dry anymore, is useless, and is sick to boot. The former God of War of the courtyard could only shield his head and take a beating. Xiaodang and Huaihua watched coldly from nearby, while Qin Huairu sat inside with Banggeng’s son, listening to the radio and pretending not to hear a thing.
He dragged his battered body, trembling, to the bridge. The weather was cold, but his heart was colder. He had worked himself to the bone helping the Jia family, only to find they were all ungrateful wolves. He regretted it. He hated Yi Zhonghai and Deaf Granny. They were the ones who had led him, step by step, into letting the Jia family bleed him dry. They had both met peaceful ends after they died, while He Yuzhu was left in this state. Just then, a pack of wild dogs bared their fangs and approached. He Yuzhu swung the wooden stick in his hand again and again, but he had little strength left. Exhausted and starving, he was soon surrounded. The dogs tore into him, bite by bite. His resentment surged skyward as he slowly sank into darkness.
When He Yuzhu woke, he was back in 1958. He was twenty-three, He Yushui was thirteen, and He Daqing had left for Baoding with the White Widow seven years earlier. He Yuzhu was reborn with a Heavenly Master System. He could level up by gaining enough resentment points, and the starter pack gave him a portable space, a spirit spring, a complete collection of talismans, supplies, and more. Now, all he wanted was to live his life over again and deal with the ungrateful members of the Jia family one by one...
Well written! Can be worth watching!
Demonized... I can't explain it, it looks weird.
