She Called a Designated Driver in the Underground Parking Garage

At 9:47 p.m., Lin Wantang called for a designated driver from the underground parking garage at MixC.

Six minutes later, a syringe was pointed at her neck.

The “Mr. Li” in a windbreaker and a mask wasn’t a designated driver at all. He had planted a GPS tracker under her car three days earlier. He knew she’d been drinking, knew she’d call for a driver, and knew the password to her smart lock was her birthday.

This wasn’t a robbery. It was a carefully planned “private loan” scam: force her to sign an IOU, transfer 500,000 yuan, and make sure she’d never dare report it to the police.

But Lin Wantang didn’t cry, beg for mercy, or pass out.

She jumped off the roof of the moving car.

The moment the syringe pierced her skin, the 32-year-old investment executive sent a distress signal using a secret code she’d shared with her best friend for fifteen years. With a lie about her father, she scared off three kidnappers, and she captured all the evidence on her dashcam.

The police told her that before her, the gang had already committed six crimes, and not one victim had reported them.

Because they had all signed that IOU.

Now it’s Lin Wantang’s turn to rewrite the ending.
