Siheyuan: He Yuzhu Refuses to Be a Doormat

When He Yuzhu wakes up, he discovers he has returned to 1965.

Memories of his past life surge back like a tide. He poured thirty years of wages into the bottomless pit that was the Jia family, fed all his goodwill to Qin Huairu’s family’s greed, and finally died alone in the hospital, with no one by his side to see him off.

His younger sister Yushui had cried and asked, “Brother, what was the point of your whole life?”

Now he is back on that crucial morning. Qin Huairu is standing at the door again with an empty lunchbox, smiling as she says, “Zhuzi, where’s yesterday’s lunchbox? Banggeng’s been asking about it all night.”

Looking at that familiar face, He Yuzhu has only one thought:

This time, I’m going to put myself first.

No more being a lovesick doormat. No more being a sucker. No more raising someone else’s children.

Starting today, I’ll be someone who knows better.
