On the Run from Famine, the Bloodthirsty General Begs Me to Pamper Him

Yu Qianqian, a modern sanda instructor, transmigrates into a book and becomes a pig butcher, a doomed cannon-fodder character in The Great Yan Saga. From the start, she’s saddled with a pair of younger siblings crying to be fed and a rundown butcher shop.

To get back the five taels of silver she’s owed for medical expenses, she drags home a blood-soaked, red-eyed “mad wild man” she finds by the roadside and puts him to work.

Thinking he’s just a handsome pauper, Yu Qianqian makes herself at home ordering him to butcher pigs, keep the books, and dump the slop.

To evade the government officers, she even forces his head down and makes him take the place of her own “runaway live-in son-in-law.”

The man is obedient and easy to manage. Aside from being a little too strong and looking at her with increasingly clingy eyes, he’s the perfect employee.

Then chaos breaks out and bandits run rampant. Yu Qianqian bundles up her belongings and flees the famine with her whole family.

When danger strikes on the road, he turns into a demon of slaughter, cutting down several rebel heads with a single sword. Blood-soaked, feverish, and wild, he shields her with his body.

Only then does Yu Qianqian realize that the man she took in is none other than Qi Min, the “monster” young general from the original novel, wanted by the entire realm and feared by the imperial court!

Too dangerous. Time to run!

Yu Qianqian packs up and flees in the middle of the night. Once, twice, three times… She makes six escape attempts, and gets caught every time!

The sixth time he catches her, the “monster,” powerful enough to rule the realm, has red eyes and hasn’t even put on his shoes. He humbly presses a knife into her hand, his voice trembling heartbreakingly:

“Qianqian, you still haven’t paid back the five taels you owe. Where are you going?”

“I won’t stop you. If you want to leave, I’ll get you travel papers. But even if I die, I’ll follow you.”

Everyone in the realm sees him as a bloodthirsty demon. Only she scolds him for working too slowly, then gives him a home.
