You Asked Me to Act in a Movie, So Why Did I Buy the Entire Entertainment Industry?

[A realistic, semi-instructional business war] [See what powerful families really get up to every day]

{Disclaimer: This story is entirely fictional. All events, place names, and characters serve the plot and have no connection to reality.}

I wrote this story mainly to correct some common misconceptions about business wars and political intrigue in web novels. I hope readers can learn a thing or two from it as well.

Under the surface: The trade war is reaching its boiling point, and a market crackdown is underway.

On the surface: Zhu Biluo is a young heiress who has just graduated. Her allowance comes on three black savings cards. Her family is an international dynasty that owns three major conglomerates, with assets measured in the trillions.

She could have lived a carefree life, but she has a dream: to make an original science fiction film of her own. So her family gave her an entire media company.

As it happens, the company was founded the same year foreign capital began spreading into the entertainment industry. Has Zhu Biluo’s company caught the eye of some powerful investor, too?

Just when filming is hitting snags and the team is under enormous pressure, Zhu Biluo suddenly discovers that every one of her best friends has an impressive background.

And her own family seems far more unfathomable than she ever imagined.

(No women competing against women / no romance / grounded, though it looks like a female-oriented novel and reads like a male-oriented one.)

(The story contains many foreshadowing clues and hints about the Zhu family’s identity. If you’re interested, you can dig into them; otherwise, just enjoy the everyday scenes.)
