The Regent's Cherished Darling Gets Spoiled Every Single Day

On the day of her coming-of-age ceremony, her family is destroyed. After a single night of mistaken identity, Shen Jinghong, the legitimate daughter of the Minister of Personnel, falls from the clouds into the mud.

To save her family from exile, she approaches Xie Jinglan, the Prince Regent who holds power over the court, and signs a one-year contract. Using the Kunqu singing style she shares with his first love, she becomes his shadow.

He is a ruthless, cold-faced prince, hard-mouthed but soft-hearted. He is icy toward everyone else, but fiercely possessive and protective of her. His obsession with her as a substitute gives way to genuine love. She is an orphan of a noble house, gentle on the outside but strong within, with an unyielding spirit. Relying on her gift for Kunqu, she rises from a bit player in the opera world to become a master of traditional Chinese music.

A misunderstanding tears them apart, and he lays down his power to chase her across a thousand miles, enduring every hardship to win her back. When they reunite, he offers her the whole realm as a betrothal gift and vows to cherish her for all their years to come. Jinghong enters Lan’s court, and one glance binds them for life.
