Young Master Xiao, Just Eat the Grass by Your Own Door

Xiao Nian (spirit form: white wolf; proud and sharp-tongued) × Jiang Xing (spirit form: lop-eared rabbit; gentle and resilient)

In an age when everyone lives alongside their spirit forms, the weak lop-eared rabbit Guide Jiang Xing is abandoned at an orphanage as a child and grows up under people's cold stares, surviving on meager relief payments. Then, at fourteen, he meets Xiao Nian, a Sentinel with the pride of a snowfield's ruler and a white wolf's spirit form.

Xiao Nian comes from a top-tier family and has S-rank talent. His mental sea is constantly in turmoil. Cold and sharp-tongued, he keeps almost everyone at a distance. With a fifteen-year contract, he pulls Jiang Xing out of the mud: he pays for his schooling, protects him, and gives him fifty thousand yuan a month for living expenses. In return, Jiang Xing must become his exclusive Guide for those fifteen years.

Jiang Xing is as docile as a rabbit, yet possesses astonishing mental resilience. His spirit form is a fluffy lop-eared rabbit that silently slips into Xiao Nian's icy, snowy mental landscape whenever his mental state runs wild, soothing the berserk white wolf with its soft warmth. Xiao Nian complains, “Your rabbit's so weak it can't even withstand the wind.” But in action, he repeatedly protects Jiang Xing from danger.

Outsiders say Jiang Xing is Xiao Nian's dependent, but only Xiao Nian knows that the seemingly fragile rabbit is the only home his proud soul has.

“You said you'd only stay with me for fifteen years.”

“So now you're trying to break the contract?”

When the contract expires and Jiang Xing quietly packs his bags to leave, the proud white wolf finally bows his head and traps him in his arms. His voice hoarse, he says, “Jiang Xing, you're never allowed to leave. Not for the rest of your life.”
