Qinling Bones

They say that deep in the Qinling Mountains, among their hundred thousand peaks, lies a stone of pure white.

Buried underground, it never rots after a thousand years or crumbles after ten thousand. But once someone digs it up, a mountain breeze and a spell in the sun are all it takes. In less than half an incense stick's time, it turns to a handful of fine ash, scattered to nothing by the wind.

Some say it isn't a stone at all.

It's a human bone.
