Hard to Return in Early Autumn

The next time I heard from Chen Yanchu, he had become a trainee, while I was still studying at a middle school in Nangui County.

After the high school entrance exams, I was lucky enough to get into Chen Yanchu’s school and become his junior. By then, he was already in his final year.

The time he spent preparing for his exams was probably when I was closest to him. But the feelings of young love are a secret too difficult to put into words…

As the years passed, I suddenly realized that Chen Yanchu, now a huge star, was someone I could never reach. For the first time in my life, I truly understood the word “distance.” It was so vast.

“Brother Xiao Chu, everyday expenses aren’t a serious problem for you anymore, but they are for me.”

“We can take our time and figure those things out.”

I shook my head, rejecting his answer.

The inferiority I felt because of the gap between us was already enough to leave me gasping for breath.
