Yan Jiu is the last little phoenix in the Celestial Realm, born with a special talent: entering the dreams of countless worlds and taking on other people’s fates.
She thought it was a dream job, until the System told her that in each world, she would have to use a different persona to win over a designated target. Only by succeeding could she claim that person’s “destiny aura.”
In the first world, she is Yingchun, the timid “wooden block” of Dream of the Red Chamber, whom everyone can bully. Her target, however, is the decisive and ruthless Prince Mu. A refined young lady? Gentle and dignified? No. Inside Yingchun’s shell is Yan Jiu, whose motto is, “I’m weak, so I’m right. Nobody plays innocent better than me.”
In the second world, she is Jingse, the spoiled and willful legitimate princess from Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace, and her target is a prince of the Khorchin. The princess smiles sweetly, while in her heart the schemes click into place: she wants the prince’s head, and she wants the Great Qing’s throne, too. Love? That’s just the icing on the cake.
In the third world, she is Xiao Qingyue, the frail, lovesick Ninth Princess from Dashing Youth, with eyes only for Ye Dingzhi. But when she takes a fatal blow for him and her white clothes are stained with blood, she hears him say, “I’m sorry. I lied to you.”
Later, she opens her eyes to see another man’s anxious face: Su Changhe, the person she hates most, his eyes red as he calls her name again and again.
That doesn’t work on you? Then she’ll try something else.
Across countless worlds, she is a master actress and a clear-eyed lover. Each time she takes on a role, she thinks she’s the hunter, until her targets pin her against the wall, eyes red: “Had enough of acting? Now it’s my turn.”
