Siheyuan: Reborn as Silly Zhu, I Refuse to Be a Scapegoat

Reborn in 1964, He Yuzhu finally tears off the Silly Zhu label.

In this life, he has fragments of memories from the era and excels at both cooking and machinery repair. He finds just the right place in the wave of light-industry revival.

He refuses to be guilt-tripped and draws clear boundaries around helping others, moving from the canteen to the factory floor.

Together with Lin Yanqiu, a clear-headed and independent clerk at the neighborhood office, he builds up industry through gaps in policy, turning returned educated youth and young people from the courtyard into the first core team.

As the machines of the food processing plant roar to life, they not only overturn the courtyard's fate of leeching and infighting, but also reshape family ties and neighborhood values. Good people don't have to be doormats; even beneath a tough exterior, there's warmth. This is the story of an era-defining breakthrough that leads an entire alley to reclaim its dignity.
