Back to the ’80s: I Go Clamming, Kick My Scumbag Ex, and Snag a Soldier

In her previous life, Su Wan was betrayed by her scumbag boyfriend and best friend. They stole her family fortune, and she ultimately died in a fire.

After her death, her spirit drifted around, and only then did she see her taciturn neighbor go mad with grief as he avenged her and spent the rest of his life clutching her ashes.

Given another chance at life, Su Wan kicks her scumbag boyfriend to the curb and tears into her so-called best friend. All she wants is to find Lu Zheng and love him properly.

But in this life, Lu Zheng has only just returned from the battlefield. He’s bristling with hostility, wary of everyone, and sees an enemy of the people in every face.

Worst of all, he seems not to know her at all.

Su Wan can only approach him carefully.

What she doesn’t know is that every night, Lu Zheng relives their “past life” in his dreams.

In those dreams, she is his light, the precious treasure he can never touch.

But when morning comes, that “treasure” is chasing the village bullies with a club, kicking a pig off its feet, and acting so fierce that it leaves him trembling.

Lu Zheng by day: This woman is terrifying. I’d better stay out of her way.

Lu Zheng by night: Waaaah, my Wanwan! If anyone dares to bully you, they’ll have to go through me!

Until one day, Su Wan, at the end of her rope, pins him against the wall. “Lu Zheng, when exactly are you going to marry me?”

Lu Zheng turns bright red and stammers, “Y-You have to take responsibility for me first!”
