On New Year's Eve in 2026, the world's ley lines shifted. Deep inside an abandoned mine in the southwest, geologist Lu Li witnessed the awakening of a myth: ancient dragon bones as vast as mountains trembled and murmured in the darkness. This was no natural disaster. The planet's administrators, known as the “Dragon Remains,” had ended their long slumber.
Civilization collapsed overnight. Lu Li was among the few deemed compatible with the Dragon Remains, able to “resonate” with them. He saved Qin Yue, a forest ranger, and struggled to survive in a mutated world. Ancient murals revealed that beings once known as “Dragon Tamers” could channel the power of the Dragon Remains through “spirit runes.” And this bloodline was awakening within Lu Li.
From taming his first Rock-Armored Earth Dragon hatchling to defending the ancient refuge “Guixu”; from battling the fanatical “Ascension Cult” to navigating the remnants of humanity's surviving factions... Lu Li gradually came to understand that humanity's path to survival lay not in conquest, but in understanding and communication. Yet it seemed that something even colder and more ancient was behind the Dragon Remains' collective awakening.
This is the apocalypse, and also the prologue. With the Dragon Tamer returned, Lu Li must find the answer: in a new era where giant dragons awaken, how can humanity secure a place for its civilization? And what, exactly, is the shadow buried deep within the ley lines?
