Honghuang: Refining Mosquito Taoist from the Start

A story about playing it safe and having fun. This is a tale of the Primordial World where the art of keeping your head down is taken to the extreme. While everyone else who transmigrates into the Primordial World dreams of attaining the Dao, becoming a Sage, and challenging Heaven, the protagonist, Minghe, wants only one thing: to stay alive. His principles are simple: if he can avoid going out, he stays home; if he can avoid making enemies, he does. He bullies the weak and runs from the strong, without a second thought. From the Dragon-Han Tribulation to the Immeasurable Calamity, he watches Hongjun attain sagehood and then fall, and the Six Sages perish in their struggle for providence. Meanwhile, he, the coward everyone mocked, makes it to the end by holding fast to one belief: staying alive is the Dao. “I didn’t save him back then. He became the Dao Ancestor. He died. I’m still alive.” When the Primordial World shatters: “We didn’t win. But we didn’t die. That’s enough.”
