After his soul transmigrates into the least-favored good-for-nothing prince of Great Jing, his mother is dead and her family offers him no support. From the start, he has only five taels of silver and is caught in a deadly struggle for the throne. The Crown Prince is sinister, the Fifth Prince vicious, and the Ninth Prince treacherous. Every one of them sees me as an ant they can trample at will.
Armed with modern knowledge, I defy fate and change my fortunes. I make my first fortune with cement, scented balm, and colored glass, then rake in huge profits through grain futures. I establish a merchant alliance and take control of the capital’s commercial lifelines. Wen Yuan handles the finances, Zhao Wu commands the troops, and Wei Qi runs the intelligence network. Talented men from humble backgrounds gather beneath my banner.
Faced with oppression by the powerful, false accusations, smears, and assassination attempts, I turn bloody tricks to break through, rely on political cunning to secure my position, and use an iron fist to keep everyone in line. When the Fifth Prince provokes me, I turn the evidence against him. When the Ninth Prince hoards grain to cause trouble, I crush him in a commercial war. When the Crown Prince tests me at every turn, I humor him while hiding my sharp edge.
From a down-and-out prince who started with five taels of silver to a hidden dragon whose power shakes the court, I plan every step, overturn the imperial game, and rise from humble beginnings to the summit, taking command of a vast realm!
