I Became a Bedchamber Maid: I’ll Die Unless I Cuddle the Eunuch-in-Chief

In the Great Yan Dynasty, the emperor is weak and the eunuchs hold power. Yan Hansheng, the all-powerful chief of the Eastern Depot, is known as the “Nine-Thousand-Year-Old.” He is bloodthirsty, and none of the beauties sent to him ever survive.

Su Su, a PhD in classical Chinese literature, transmigrates into a book and becomes a low-ranking bedchamber maid offered up by the Su family as “tribute.” Worse still, she is bound to a life-prolonging System: if she fails to make physical contact with the male lead, her life points will hit zero and she will die.

The problem is, the male lead is a “fake eunuch,” murderous and dangerous. One touch could get her killed.

“Chief Eunuch, I have admired you for a long time. I am willing to be a moth drawn to the flame…” Even with his hand around her throat, she keeps reciting love poetry.

“Is my blade not sharp enough?” Killing intent surges beneath his hand.

While he is distracted, she clings to him like an octopus and refuses to let go.

She thinks she is only trying to stay alive.

He thinks she is the only person in this life who dares to get close to him.

She writes in her diary: “That damn eunuch is so hard to please. My lips are chapped from kissing him. What a loss!”

He interprets her diary: “She wore her lips raw just to get close to me… She feels she owes me.”

Then he gets someone to decipher her simplified characters.

The Nine-Thousand-Year-Old smiles, so tenderly it sends chills down the spine.

“You only wanted to stay alive and never planned to take responsibility? Too late.”
