The Empress Ascends the Throne in the 1970s, and a Tough Army Commander Becomes Her Husband

After the licentious empress Shen Ningning of the Dayu Dynasty was poisoned to death, she unexpectedly came back to life in a military family compound in the 1970s, in the body of Lu Zheng's troublesome, demanding wife. Lu Zheng was a rugged army commander.

A scheming rival tries to turn him against her? The empress sneers. “You insolent servant! How dare you covet my beloved consort? Guards, give her a hundred lashes!” She grabs a shoulder pole and beats the woman until she runs in circles around the compound.

The family compound is a total mess? The empress stands on the well platform and gives orders. “How dare you all behave so outrageously in my harem! Get out there and plow the fields and plant vegetables!”

At first, Lu Zheng thinks his wife, who can't stand him, has gone mad. Then he watches her knock out three enemy agents with a single swing of her shoulder pole, whip a crowd of gossipy women into line, and, eyes red, force him to hand over his entire monthly stipend. “Consort Zhuang, I am very pleased with this month's tribute. Go wash up. You may attend me tonight.”

Faced with those slippery little hands wandering over the collar of his military uniform, Lu Zheng's Adam's apple bobs. He hoists her up and pins her against the door, his voice hoarse and heated. “Shen Ningning, keep teasing me like that, and I'll make sure you can't get out of bed for three days and nights!”
