The Red Mist Descends: I Rebuild Civilization with Players

Novel Synopsis

Bad news: I’ve transmigrated, the Red Mist is devouring the world, and humanity has become prey for mutated creatures!

Good news: I’ve bonded with the Civilization Reconstruction System, and I can summon players from Blue Star to work for me!

While everyone else scrapes by in the apocalypse by scavenging trash, I’m an NPC in a safe zone, handing out quests:

“Collect 100 pieces of scrap metal and earn one pack of compressed biscuits and one point of Constitution!”

“Clear out a mutated wolf den and earn a pistol and 500 points!”

“Build a city wall and earn defensive fortification blueprints and a ten-point defense bonus!”

The players go wild:

“Holy crap! This game is so realistic, you can eat and sleep!”

“This NPC boss is amazing! I’m going to grind until the end of time!”

“Mutated beasts in the Red Mist? Watch me mow them down with my submachine gun!”

Looking at the steel walls, power plants, and even tank divisions the players have ground out, I stroke my chin and grin.

“Take it easy. Once you’ve brought civilization to its peak, I’ll lead you in a counterattack against the heart of the Red Mist!”

(Fourth Calamity + post-apocalyptic city-building + undercover NPC + players messing around. Maximum thrills, breakneck pacing!)
