I awaken from the Black Death and see that all living things are pieces on a chessboard.
Ninety percent of humanity has died, and most of those who remain have become aberrant beasts.
The six [Lords of the Steps] scheme against one another in the abyss, while the [Ancients] whisper in the darkness.
And I am the [Zero Step], the destroyer of worlds, the Ancients' final vessel.
But all I want is to be an ordinary doctor and keep the people around me alive.
When the virus tears away civilization's veneer,
when evolution becomes the only way forward,
when desire is freed from its shackles
to the left lies hell, and to the right lies hell as well.
But I will find a third path.
