Defending the Nation: I Forge a New Covenant in the Mortal Realm

When I was eighteen, I knelt in the rain for three hours.

My fiancee tore up our marriage contract in front of everyone. "A useless piece of trash like you isn't worthy of me."

My cousin stepped on my fingers, laughing so hard she could barely stand. "Lin Ce, blame yourself for shining too brightly."

The clan patriarch shattered my father's heart meridian with a single palm strike and said nonchalantly, "What bad luck. Send him to the Zhao family tomorrow to be their medicine slave."

Clutching my father's corpse, I stood in the rain all night.

At dawn, a voice rang out in my mind:

"The Heavenly Law Editing System is now activated."

"Host may edit the rules to change any law in the Myriad Worlds: flaws in cultivation techniques, bloodline shackles, the cycle of cause and effect, the boundary between life and death... as long as you can pay the price."

From that day on, I changed the first rule of this world:

"Whoever harms my father must repay him a hundredfold."

You all know what happened after that.

When Lin Xue knelt before me, she was still shouting, "I'm your cousin!"

I asked just one question: "When you stepped on me back then, did you remember I was your cousin?"

After that, I changed the second rule, then the third...

Until one day, I realized the greatest injustice in this world was the Heavenly Law itself.

They called me a madman, a demon, a lunatic bent on overturning everything.

It didn't matter.

I only wanted to establish a new covenant in this cold world:

From now on, the strong must never turn their blades against women and children, and the souls of the weak must have a place to call home.

My name is Lin Ce.

In this life, I established a new covenant among men.
