He Shines in Summer

At the start of the school year in September, Lin Xingchen gets lost on campus with her suitcase and accidentally wanders into the Mathematics Department's award ceremony. The cool, outstanding student representative onstage turns out to be Fu Yu, the older boy next door whom she hasn't seen in three years.

He steps in to rescue her from an awkward situation and hands her a hand-drawn map, with a little star in the corner.

Urged on by her roommates, Lin Xingchen goes to the library to ask for his WeChat. Fu Yu takes her phone and changes his contact name in front of everyone to "My One and Only Star." He says softly, "Today makes 251 days that you've been someone I've paid special attention to."

She doesn't understand what he means.

Not until Shen Yiran, the Finance Department's campus heartthrob, openly pursues Lin Xingchen, and Fu Yu silently takes a seat beside her and eats the green pepper from her bowl for her. Not until she breaks down sobbing in the practice room and he climbs in through the window to hold her tight for the first time. "You don't have to practice anymore. I'll take care of you."

Only then does Lin Xingchen realize: the aloof campus heartthrob whom every girl admires has never looked at her as a little sister.

An arranged marriage agreement, a pretend romance that turns real, and a secret crush kept hidden for 252 days.

It turns out the boy who shone in the summer had been waiting for her to look back all along.

You are my one and only star, and the secret I've kept hidden throughout my youth.
