A tribal priestess × a poker-faced interstellar general
One declaration from a tribal priestess, and the god of war of the stars becomes a live-in son-in-law.
When the rift in the sky swept me away from the Blackstone Tribe, I was still on the altar praying for rain.
When I opened my eyes again, I was in an irradiated interstellar wasteland.
After an accident, a man appeared before me.
The 3S-level psychic commander feared by the entire Federation, Lu Chen, the god of war on the frontier.
“I, Lu Chen, am the Federation's commander-in-chief on the frontier. I have no wife, no children, and no ties. My properties, military pay, and military honors are all yours. I'll take full responsibility for what happened last night.”
I stared at him, my mind buzzing.
In my tribe, forty-seven was considered a ripe old age. At his age...
I couldn't help blurting out in a small voice, “You're already forty-two. You could be my father.”
The air went completely still.
Lu Chen's ears turned bright red. He froze for a long moment before managing to say, “...I can hear you.”
Panicking, I waved my hands, about to smooth things over, when I remembered the tribe's ironclad rules.
I looked up and stubbornly laid down my terms.
“I'll let you take responsibility, but according to the rules of our Blackstone Tribe, you have to marry into my family.”
He frowned. “What does that mean?”
“It means you'll belong to me from now on.”
“You'll live on my land and do as I say.”
“If we have children, they must take my surname and belong to our tribe.”
Even I thought it sounded absurd.
This was the god of war who held sway over the entire interstellar world. How could he possibly agree to such outrageous terms?
The next second,
Lu Chen looked at me with absolute seriousness and answered with a single, decisive word.
“Fine.”
