The Chen Family Saga: Suyun and Mingxuan

In the early years of the Republic of China, the Chen mansion was a strict and imposing place. Suyun was a maid who had grown up alongside the young master, Chen Mingxuan. They had been together since childhood, and their love for each other had taken deep root. On the eve of his departure overseas to study, they pledged under the moon to stay together. But this pure love became a thorn in the side of the Second Young Master, Chen Zongyi, and his wife. Suyun was framed and forced to marry Chen Mingxuan's elder brother, Chen Zongwei, as his concubine, becoming Chen Mingxuan's sister-in-law. Chen Zongwei's principal wife

Three years later, Chen Mingxuan returned home after completing his studies. The woman he had once loved was now his sister-in-law.

Not long afterward, the eldest young master died in the prime of his life, leaving Suyun to face turmoil in the Chen household with her young son.

No longer the meek maid she had once been, she relied on her resilience and intelligence to establish herself in a chaotic era. She took charge of the household and steadily turned her fortunes around.

Watching her weather one storm after another, Chen Mingxuan could only protect her quietly, without ever saying much.

In the end, with Suyun's blessing and help, he married a close friend and fellow student he had met overseas, and lived a peaceful life.

They spent their lives looking out for one another, never betraying their restrained but profound love, and remained by each other's side until the end.
