Zhen Jiru, the pampered heiress of a top-tier tycoon family and daughter of the painter Zhen Danqing, is so outrageously extravagant that she spends tens of millions a day on a single meal, smashes Lamborghinis like toys, and gambles away fortunes at casinos. Life feels meaningless unless she takes her excesses to the limit.
Then, overnight, she is plagued by nightmares. Vengeful ghosts cling to her and spirits demand her life. She wakes drenched in cold sweat, and before long, she is struck by a strange illness that no medicine can cure.
Her best friend, Du Jiayao, is frantic with worry, while the malicious Pan Tingting secretly schemes against her. Pretending to offer advice, she sends Zhen Jiru to pray at a derelict temple on the outskirts of town, one that no one ever visits.
Desperate for a cure, Zhen Jiru forces herself to the temple despite her illness, where she happens upon Huangjin Yi, a thousand-year-old weasel spirit seeking a heavenly title.
This creature has cultivated for thousands of years. Proud yet fragile, it dreams of ascending to the pinnacle of the Three Realms. The moment it sees someone approaching, it immediately asks her to grant it a title.
Everyone else keeps their distance in fear, but Zhen Jiru, accustomed to throwing her weight around, flies into a fit of sickbed fury and points at the weasel, shouting:
“You look like the Jade Emperor to me!”
Those words turn the spirit's path upside down and set off a shocking chain of karma.
She has no idea that in a corner of the temple sits Qin Xueze, a seemingly down-and-out beggar.
He is a Primordial Sage with power reaching to the heavens. He scorns the throne of the Nine Heavens, preferring to play the pig to eat the tiger, wander the mortal world, and watch the world's cold indifference with detached eyes.
A weasel spirit driven mad, a spoiled heiress courting disaster, a vicious best friend plotting in secret, and an invincible Sage watching from the sidelines.
An absurd, frenzied, and outrageously satisfying farce is about to erupt in the mortal world!
