A Cowherd from a Poor Family Takes the Imperial Exams and Claims a Page in the Clan Genealogy

In Great Qian, Li Changping starts out as nothing more than a young shepherd from a destitute mountain village. He thinks he'll starve to death in this famine, but modern-day top student Li Changping draws on five thousand years of knowledge and leaves the ancients hopelessly outclassed. The village chief laughs at his lofty ambitions, and the local gentry regard him as an insect. Yet he races ahead in the imperial examinations, accomplishing one miracle after another. He passes the county exam, becomes a provincial graduate, and claims the top spot in the palace exam. Rising from a low-ranking official, he eventually ascends to the highest seat in the court: Chief Minister. Not only does he reach the pinnacle of power himself, he also uses modern technology to produce salt and fertilizer, helping his whole family thrive in business and martial arts. He transforms a humble farming family into the most prestigious clan under heaven. When his shameless, overbearing relatives from the main branch come weeping to curry favor with the Chief Minister, Li Changping responds by producing a brand-new, gold-embossed family genealogy. "Sorry, I, Li Changping, have my own page in the genealogy. What makes you outsiders think you belong here?"
