Stars Lost in Years Gone By

Su Wang has believed since childhood that “you can't count on anyone; you're the only one who can protect yourself.” Selfish and cold-hearted, she makes survival her sole faith and is terrified even of death. Lin Wanxing, meanwhile, has obsessively guarded her for twenty years. The boy who quietly fought for her in the old alley has grown into a man so consumed by madness that he wants to keep her locked at his side. When her mother falls seriously ill, Su Wang would rather take out online loans than ask Lin Wanxing for help, all to avoid being controlled by him. Driven to desperation, she delivers takeout in the freezing night to pay off her debts. Lin Wanxing cuts off every way out, all to force her to come back. She escapes again and again, scraping by washing dishes at a restaurant, yet in the end she cannot escape those obsessive eyes. This is a struggle between obsession and selfishness, a battle between love and a cage. He wants her to belong to him completely, while all she wants is to live for herself. When the starlight of years past falls once more, she finally understands that she has long been a star in his palm, one that cannot escape.
