The Crimson-Purple Calamity

A beloved Grand Princess × a powerful Left Chancellor Yan Wan, the Grand Princess, is eighteen, the eldest legitimate daughter of Emperor Shizong. Her birth mother is dead, and she was raised by the Empress Dowager. She seems naïve, a pampered flower who takes no interest in politics, but in truth she began hiding her talents after witnessing her mother's death as a child. Shen Hanzhi, the Left Chancellor, is twenty-two, born to a humble family. She came first in all three imperial examinations and rose seven ranks in three years to become Left Chancellor. Cold-faced and cold-hearted, she is decisive and ruthless, earning the name “Iron-Faced Yama.” When she was seven, her family was wrongfully slaughtered. Rescued by an old servant, she has lived as a man ever since, taking the imperial examinations to clear her family's name. Caught between power and love, and torn between their identities and their true selves, these two women at the summit of power protect one another and themselves in a patriarchal society.
