The protagonist transmigrates into a student at Shangyin Academy who skips class every day to roast pork and slack off. From the start, the academy’s Libationer sees him as worthless, but he binds to the template of Su Shi, the Poet Emperor of the Ages. As long as he savors fine food, travels through scenic landscapes, or even suffers demotion and oppression, he can gain the righteous energy of Confucianism.
To sever Beiliang’s fortune, the Emperor of Liyang sends the Four Celestial Masters of Mount Longhu to join forces with the imperial fortune of Taian City. Together, they seek to kill Xu Fengnian and wipe out their opponents at the academy. Facing an execution formation of a hundred thousand imperial troops and four Land Immortals, the protagonist walks out of the academy with a bowl of braised pork and takes a swig from his jug of rough wine. He sweeps out his sleeve, and a gale howls: “The great river flows east, waves sweeping away all the heroes of ages past!”
One poem shakes heaven and earth. The Confucian fortune above the academy transforms into a nine-hundred-thousand-mile thunder tribulation dragon, which smashes the Celestial Masters’ avatars of Mount Longhu on the spot and swallows the Liyang imperial family’s century-old golden dragon of fortune, forcing the Emperor of Liyang to issue an edict of self-reproach.
