I’m a Tomb Raider, So Why Are You Sending Me to an Archaeology Exam?

“I have a secret. I’m not actually from this world. In my previous life, I spent over twenty years honing my skills and raided more than a hundred tombs before finally becoming a leading authority in the field. But then I was betrayed by the person I trusted most, one of my own men. One last peanut, and I ended up in this world.” “Oh, so you must have seen all kinds of strange things, right?” “Of course. Blood corpses and vengeful spirits are the basics. Drought demons and zongzi are everyday fare.” As soon as Zhang Yeci finished speaking, everyone around him burst out laughing. “Hey, what are you laughing at? How come nobody believes me when I’m telling the truth?” “Haha, it’s not that, kid. Your family sells fish, but you’re spinning such wild tales. Only an idiot would believe you. Besides, everyone knows there’s no such thing as the monsters and demons you’re talking about.” “Just because you haven’t seen them, does that mean they don’t exist?” “Then tell me, what’s the scariest thing you’ve ever seen?” “The human heart.” After the crowd dispersed, a slender woman wearing a mask stared blankly at Zhang Yeci as he disappeared around the street corner. It took her a long time to finally look away. What Zhang Yeci didn’t know was that after he had spent twenty years keeping his secret bottled up, venting about it as a joke that day would turn his life upside down a month later. Ghosts, blood corpses, hairy stiff corpses… He would experience them all over again in this world, but this time he had official backing. The Black Gold Ancient Saber, the Qilin Exhaustion… As he discovered one item after another, Zhang Yeci began to wonder if he was dreaming. His identity, too, grew increasingly mysterious.
