Puppies Deserve a Proper Romance Too

On his first day after transmigrating as the heir to the Prince of Zhenbei, Zhao Yan quickly notices something odd about his two elite shadow guards.

One has a stomachache but refuses to say anything, while the other pretends to be passing by and casually leaves a box of medicine;

One sneaks off to feed a kitten, while the other keeps watch and even has dried fish tucked away for it;

One coughs up blood from a body covered in old wounds, while the other turns red with anger and calls him an idiot.

Zhao Yan (rubbing his hands excitedly): I’m shipping this couple, no matter what!

So, as their master, he starts setting them up in every way he can:

He arranges for them to share meals, changes their night shifts, plans one-on-one blindfolded training, and even builds them a cat bed himself!

Xuan Qi and Yin San: “...”

After a bumpy journey, the two go from awkwardly meeting each other’s eyes to fighting side by side, from ignoring each other to entrusting each other with their lives.

Then, during an unexpected assassination attempt, a poisoned arrow flies toward Zhao Yan.

Yin San uses his body to shield him, but Xuan Qi’s sword moves even faster.

Only when blood soaks through the black clothes does Zhao Yan understand:

He wasn’t shipping a couple. He was watching two hearts beat fiercely on the edge of a blade.

“Even shadows want to bask in the sun, and puppies deserve a happy romance too.”

Xuan Qi: “Master, could you... stop showing up whenever we’re kissing?”

Zhao Yan: “No. I’m your biggest fan.”

Xuan Qi: “...”
