My Shadow Guard Is a Husky Who Trashes the House

My Shadow Guard Is a Wrecking-Ball Husky

How to raise a “loyal dog” shadow guard who’s absurdly strong but hopelessly scatterbrained

One-line summary:

I spent 4,800 taels on a top-tier shadow guard, only to discover he was a husky who’d gained human form.

Blurb:

The day Shen Qinglan bought “Night Fiend,” everyone in the capital said he’d hit the jackpot.

After all, Night Fiend was a fearsome legend among shadow guards, able to kill with a single strike and vanish like the wind.

That is, until the legend:

Chewed up his treasured rare book, tore the door off his study, howled like a wolf on the roof in the middle of the night,

and forgot to draw his sword when assassins attacked because he was fascinated by the pattern on a dagger.

Shen Qinglan: “...This is a top-tier shadow guard?”

Xuan Mo tilted his head innocently. “Young master, my teeth are itchy.”

Only later did Shen Qinglan realize

he hadn’t bought a shadow guard, but a husky in human form.

His loyalty is real, and so is his knack for wrecking the house;

he’d really fight to the death for Shen Qinglan, and he really does fear baths, hide socks, and chase butterflies.

Daily life after a scheming young noble picks up a “husky” shadow guard:

- Lesson one in human manners: Don’t chew books, don’t chew chairs, and absolutely do not chew my boots!

- On the art of being a bodyguard: When an assassin shows up, don’t attack right away. Let me sniff out what he had for breakfast.

- A heart-to-heart on the roof late at night: After killing someone, he clutched a soy-braised bone and quietly asked, “Young master, will you hate me?”

Someone warned Shen Qinglan, “That shadow guard isn’t right in the head. You should get rid of him while you can.”

Shen Qinglan smiled, protective as ever. “He’s mine. I’ll spoil him if I want.”
