"Records of Emperors of the Qing Dynasty" is a chronological history book compiled by the Qing Dynasty that records the achievements and activities of the Shunzhi Emperor (Aisin Gioro Fulin). It is named after the Shunzhi Emperor's temple name "Shizu" and his posthumous title "Titian Longyun Dingtong Jianji Ying Rui Qin Wen Xian Wu Dade Hong Gong Zhi Ren Chun Chun Xiao Zhang Emperor".
The compilation of this record began in the sixth year of Kangxi (1667), with bachelor Batai as the supervisor, and Tu Hai, Suo'etu, Li Fei, Wei Yijie and others as the chief executives. It took five years and was completed in May of the eleventh year of Kangxi (1672). The book has a total of one hundred and forty-six volumes, covering the entire history from Fulin's accession to the throne in August of the eighth year of Chongde (1643), Emperor Taizong of the Qing Dynasty, to his death in the first month of the eighteenth year of Shunzhi (1661). Since the actual records have been revised many times during the compilation process, the existing version is the final version of the "Second Revision" of the Kangxi Dynasty. Its content has been officially approved and is the core historical material for studying the history of the early Qing Dynasty.
The style of "Records of Emperors of the Qing Dynasty" follows the standards of the Qing Dynasty records, and records in detail the emperor's edicts, edicts, important government affairs, military operations, diplomatic interactions, regulations and systems, astronomical disasters, etc., And is extremely rich in content. For example, it completely records major events such as the entry of the Qing army into the customs, establishing the capital in Beijing, rectifying the civil service, promoting farming, and handling the relationship between Manchu and Han. It also contains key details such as the power game between Shunzhi and the regent Dorgon after the Shunzhi emperor was deposed and took office.
