Novel Synopsis
Seven years ago, she was his substitute.
Seven years later, he became her destination.
One summer, when she was eighteen, Shen Zhiyi walked into Haicheng's most expensive club to raise money for her father's surgery.
There she met Lu Nanfeng, a young, distinguished tech mogul with cold eyes and brows, whose gaze seemed to come from across mountains and rivers.
“Your features are similar. About seventy percent,” he said.
Only then did she learn she looked like the first love he could never have.
A three-month contract. Two hundred thousand in compensation. He gave her an access card to his residence, a gown for formal dinners, and everything money could buy
except his true feelings.
“Don't fall for me.” That was his rule.
Shen Zhiyi did as she was told.
On the day she left, she placed the access card in the entryway, deleted every contact, and left behind only a note.
Four words, with no signature.
“Goodbye, Mr. Lu.”
Seven years later.
At Haicheng's newly built cultural arts center, she was the lead designer, and he was the head of the investment firm.
The meeting-room door swung open. She looked up and met the eyes and brows she had seen only in financial magazines for the past seven years.
He stared at her name badge, his eyes reddening, his voice hoarse.
“Shen Zhiyi. I've been looking for you for seven years.”
She lowered her eyes, her tone as calm as if discussing the weather:
“Mr. Lu, please look over page three of the project documents.”
Only then did he realize
The girl who had once gazed up at him so cautiously no longer needed to look up to anyone.
