War of Resistance in the Republic of China: From Huangpu to General

In 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Chen Rui, a special forces officer, transmigrates into 1924 and awakens on Huangpu Island.

In his pocket is a torn page recording the Liaoshen Campaign, the Hainan Campaign, and the Battle of Shangganling.

Over the next thirty years, he goes from a platoon leader in the Eastern Expedition and Northern Expedition to “Chen the Devil King,” commanding an army of fifty thousand in Hebei, Shandong, Henan, and beyond. No surrendering weapons, no negotiations. He personally pulls the trigger to execute traitors, and tramples enemy camps underfoot as he fights the Japanese. Li Yunlong once studied staff work under him, Yu Zecheng took over an undercover mission from him, and Aunt He’s millet porridge stayed in his memory for a lifetime.

He leads his troops from the northeast all the way to Hainan Island, fighting warships with wooden boats. Then he crosses the Yalu River and signs his final combat order in the tunnels of Shangganling.

When ranks are bestowed in 1955, the last name on the list of marshals is circled in red in the Huangpu class register.

Heroes from a hundred Republican-era films and TV dramas come together in this one battle.
