He Leaves Hearts Broken All Over Hong Kong

No CP + Hong Kong City's underworld + warmth and crime coexist + terrible men with genuine hearts + highly intelligent, capable protagonist + fast-paced plot + entirely fictional setting + unconventional harem magnet + deadpan-cute protagonist + everyone is smart + true love included + Hong Kong slang + not mindless wish fulfillment + there is a romance, but they separate, and the ending has no CP Feel free to criticize the top, but don't criticize the bottom. Some Cantonese or slang terms will be explained at the end. He was seventeen, with a face that made people want to protect him. At twelve, he was snatched away and forced into an organization of assassins. His instructor called him “the perfect blade for external relations”: too beautiful to be stained with blood, so they locked him in its sheath. At eighteen, he was sold to the heir of Ansheng. The heir couldn't bear to let him go, but sent him away all the same. At twenty-one, he was passed on to the president of Zhongmao. The president trusted him with important work, but never kept him around. He passed through five card tables in this city. At every table, countless people had loved him. One put a folding knife in his hand and said, “You're the only piece of work I can't bear to destroy.” One sat up until four in the morning the night he was sent away, and never married afterward. One gave him a room key that would always remain unused, and replaced the flowers every year. One pursued him for two years, but he said, “I'm not on the market.” One made a bet with him that he'd leave within three years. He won, then mailed back a postcard with just two words: “You were wrong.” Seven clans and five families: the balance of power in Hong Kong City had remained unchanged for twenty years. He was the only person to have entered the inner circles of five of them. Not because he knew how to curry favor. But because someone in every family wanted him to stay. Still, he was only surviving. He lived like a river in full flow. Running water has no roots, and never stops. The ocean has no shore, but needs no support.
