You Asked Me to Teach the Princesses Flower Arranging, So Why Did They All Become Sages?

The Great Yan Emperor has no sons, and his nine princesses, each blessed with remarkable talents, fight a bloody battle for the throne. Then Su Changqing arrives, and everything changes! All Su Changqing wants is to lie low in Changle Palace and live quietly as a handsome gardener. But to save his own life, he rescues the Seventh Princess, who has been struck by a chilling poison. The Seventh Princess (parting her red lips): “You’ve seen my body. Your life belongs to me now.” Then trouble comes one thing after another: The Eldest Princess suffers a qi deviation while practicing, and insists he give her close, personal guidance. The Third Princess faces a crisis on the frontier and tearfully begs him to serve as her strategist. The Fifth Princess has renounced worldly desires, but one Zen insight from him stirs her heart. Su Changqing: “Your Highnesses, please behave yourselves! I’m just a young medicine attendant who hasn’t been castrated!” The Ninth Princess (clutching Su Changqing’s leg): “Nobody gets to take him! Xiao Suzi is mine! I’m the only one who gets to eat the fried chicken he makes!” He seems like a lowly medicine attendant, but in truth he is the mastermind behind the nine phoenixes’ struggle for the throne. Every night, when all is quiet, Su Changqing frets: “Which palace should I sleep in tonight to avoid starting a war in the imperial court?” (Being kept isn’t just a bitter pill to swallow, it’s piping hot too!)
