I Picked Up a Golden Hamster Girl

On a stormy night, Qiu Xing, class monitor in the visual communications department, buys a hamster named Pao Fu, hoping to soothe his perfectionist anxiety. He doesn't know that the little ball of fur in the cage has been accompanying humanity for sixty years, using its tiny cheek pouches to treasure every heartfelt confession of his wish to be waited for, preserving them for eternity.

When an eighty-centimeter cage can't hold sixty years of loneliness, when a three-month encounter meets eighty years of waiting, when a naturally scatterbrained girl stuffs ginkgo leaves, headphone cords, and all his tenderness into her cheeks...

“Qiu Xing, I want to store you in my heart, so even as time passes, you'll remain my most precious collection.”

[High sweetness ahead] A long-lived girl × an anxious boy. She teaches him to embrace imperfection, and he gives her a home where someone will wait for her. The exercise wheel at two in the morning is a heartbeat; the silver wheel pendant is their bond.

When the years leave traces on her youthful face, and he slowly grows old through the long passage of time...

“Don't be afraid,” she says, taking his hand. “I'll stay by your side for all my long life, leaving the deepest warmth in yours.”

This isn't pet-keeping. It's two lonely planets lighting each other up. An eighty-centimeter cage can't hold eternity, but a sincere heart can hold every moment of eighty years.
