After His Sister Died, He Went on a Killing Spree!

Longcheng. An October night. When Xu Jing walked out of the library with his backpack, it was already half past nine. Just then, his phone rang. The name on the screen surprised him a little: Xu Mei, the older sister of a neighbor from his village. He wasn't particularly close to her. They only saw each other occasionally during holidays and exchanged greetings. A broken, stifled sob came from the other end of the line. “Jing... Jingzi, come quick... come to the Dingtian Nightclub... Your sister... something happened to her...” Xu Jing stopped dead in his tracks. “What did you say? What happened to my sister?” “I can't explain... Just get here...” The voice on the other end was so choked with sobs that she could barely get the words out. Xu Jing turned and sprinted toward the school gate. His mind went completely blank. His older sister, Xu Ting, was three years older than him. After graduating from high school, she had come to Longcheng to work with several girls her age from the village. He remembered the day she left. She wore her only white shirt without a single patch, and her hair was neatly combed. Their parents saw her off at the village entrance. She waved goodbye, her eyes red, but she didn't cry. “Study hard. Your sister will send money home.” For the next five years, Xu Ting sent money home every month without fail. The amount gradually grew from three hundred yuan to one thousand, then two thousand. In the past six months, it had even reached five thousand a month. Rumors began to spread around the village. Some people had seen Xu Ting riding in a luxury car; Some said she worked at a nightclub; Others were more blunt, saying she was in that line of work in Longcheng. Whenever he heard such things, Xu Jing would firmly retort: “My sister's a manager at a big hotel. What do you know...”
