Chronicle of the Eastern Ocean's Pacification

Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu… Like fish swimming upstream, the Japanese daimyo of the Warring States period devoted their lives to scheming, only to leave a few tiny ripples in the river of history. Zhu Mingliang, a modern man who transmigrated to the past, unexpectedly finds his fate intertwined with theirs and, before he knows it, becomes the protector of the Ming dynasty's interests in Japan. Japan is in a state of chaos, but to the high officials at the Ming court, it is nothing more than a few insignificant islands beyond civilization. Coming from the future, Zhu Mingliang knows all too well that “small temples breed big demons, and shallow ponds are full of turtles.” If left unchecked, the island's ambitious schemers will inevitably pose a latent threat to the Chinese people. Fortunately, the Ming dynasty he transmigrated into is no longer an agricultural empire that huddles behind the Great Wall, content with its own small patch of land. This is a mighty nation determined to spread Chinese civilization wherever the sun, moon, and stars can be seen. Zhu Mingliang must match wits with powerful ministers and corrupt officials at the Ming court, while also sowing discord among Japan's nobles and daimyo. He intends to bring Japan, long standing apart, fully within the territory of the Ming Empire. After countless setbacks and trials, a fire kindles in Zhu Mingliang's heart: From this day forward, Japan will no longer be some “divine land” ruled by an unbroken line of emperors for all eternity. It will be nothing more than an ordinary province under the Ming. And I, Zhu Mingliang, will be the Ming's first Governor-General of Japan.
