A Western Arms Expert Joins the Xiang Army: I Set a Deadly Trap for Zeng Guofan
I was a former deputy commander of a Royal Navy gunboat, framed and dismissed by a British trading firm. When I crossed the seas to the Qing Empire, Zeng Guofan recognized my talents at a glance and made me the Xiang Army’s exclusive chief designer of Western weapons! The trading firm secretly colludes with the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, and my former classmate from military school betrays me for profit. Western technology has become a bargaining chip in the bloody struggle between two armies? Ridiculous! I’ll make Western weapons my blade, build gunboats and cannons for Lord Zeng, calibrate their positions, and combine them with local Xiang techniques to lay a deadly trap! Watch me use cutting-edge Western technology to crush the Taiping navy and help the Xiang Army smash through the Jiangnan defenses, until the only banners flying over the Qing Empire’s waters are those of the Xiang Army!
