Another World: Sword and Rose

Li Jin jumped into a river to kill himself. To his surprise, when he opened his eyes again, he discovered he had transmigrated.

The good news: He was alive, and had gotten a muscular paladin's body for free.

The bad news: The body's original owner had just been stabbed three times by goblins and stomped on by an ogre, and was barely clinging to life.

At death's door, a passing elven archer frowned and handed him a potion. “Drink this. You may look like an idiot, but at least you can take a hit.”

Li Jin downed it in one gulp, tears in his eyes. “Sis, does this other world… have health insurance?”

And so, history's least serious paladin was born.

While others used holy light to punish evil, he used it as a “smokeless barbecue lamp” for his dwarf buddy's forge.

While others treated dragons with reverence, he tried to negotiate “installment payments for a mount, with no down payment.”

While others fought for honor and faith, he fought for a mug of dwarven mead, some elven berry tarts, and…

When would the elven archer who always looked at him like he was an idiot finally smile at him?

But when darkness once again engulfed the continent and a dragon's shadow swept over the royal city, Li Jin hefted the holy sword he had nearly sold for scrap and sighed.

“Fine, fine, pay me overtime. I'm not saving the world, just my dinner and her roses.”
