The Legend of Wukong: Honghuang Rebooted, Sage Equal to Heaven

Sun Wukong; the Primordial World; Investiture of the Gods; tribulations across the heavens; dark upheaval; three thousand chaos beings.

“This ‘Sage’ means a saint.”

“So what if you shatter the Primordial World with darkness?”

“I, Sun Wukong, will enter the cycle of reincarnation once more, and fight again!”

“Hey, where is this? Why is everything chaos? Wasn’t I fighting the dark upheaval? Where have I been reborn?”

Sun Wukong gazed at the enormous green lotus before him. A burly man stood motionless within it.

“How can he look so much like Pangu?”

Sun Wukong stared in disbelief.

“Could that really be Pangu? Did I reincarnate to before the creation of the world?”

Wukong rubbed his fiery golden eyes, piercing through the illusions of chaos.

“What happened to my body?”

Wukong looked at his massive, imposing form. It was vaguely ape-like, but its muscles bulged everywhere, and it looked nothing like an ordinary being.

He stood ten thousand zhang tall, a pitch-black staff resting in his palm. The aura of chaos surged around him, the forces of water, fire, wind, and earth swirling nearby, and his body brimmed with an overwhelming urge to fight.

His power spilled out, shattering much of the surrounding chaos.

“Chaos Ape, come closer!”

In an instant, the figure within the green lotus absorbed all the energy and took the form of a man about one zhang tall.

He pointed at the Chaos Ape. Wukong’s body shrank into a monkey three or four chi tall, circling around him.

“Pangu” chuckled, but his eyes suddenly grew grave. “The darkness has grown this rampant?”

“I failed to account for one thing.”

He tapped Wukong between the brows. Several streams of energy entered his sea of consciousness and took root.

Then Pangu pushed him into a vortex.

Wukong wanted to speak, to ask a question, but he sank into a deep sleep.

“Go. With you there, the Primordial World will not fall...”
