Fengdu University of Science and Technology: Midnight Whispers

I’m Chu Yue. Today is my first day at Fengdu University of Science and Technology, and the college life I’ve been looking forward to seems finally about to begin~

During evening study hall on my first day, I kept hearing a thump, thump, thump, thump from the wall behind me. None of my classmates could hear it. How strange.

Why is this class so long? It feels like it’ll never end. My stomach is already rumbling. Though only an hour has passed by my watch, I feel like it’s been at least four or five. My instincts can’t be wrong. Something must be going on. The classmates around me have their faces buried deep in their books, completely motionless! No, I just ran out of the classroom, but in the blink of an eye, I was back in my seat.

I don’t know how many times I tried to run. There’s no way out. The thump, thump, thump, thump, thump from inside the wall behind me is getting faster and faster. I can’t take it anymore. I have to get out!

It’s my first day on campus, and this is what I get?

But before I could finish saying that, all the heads buried in books around me suddenly turned toward me in unison. Oh no, they’re standing up!

They’re coming!

I felt my whole body being buried inside the wall!

Looking at the classmates still attending evening study hall outside, I saw that my seat was empty. They hadn’t even noticed I was gone. I could only try to knock on the wall. No matter how loudly I shouted, they couldn’t hear me. Only the steady thump, thump, thump of my fists against the wall could get through. I hoped they would notice me!

But as I kept knocking, I grew tired, and I couldn’t stop my eyes from closing. The knocking slowed down too...
