Chen Yan, an ordinary modern man, accidentally transmigrates into the world of Water Margin at the very beginning of Liangshan’s rise. He witnesses a world engulfed in war and people driven from their homes, but also sees the heroes’ chivalrous spirit and the warmth of the jianghu. He has no extraordinary powers, only a heart that cherishes the simple comforts of everyday life. With that warmth, he comforts his Liangshan brothers; with steadfast resolve, he protects the land on every side. He stays true to chivalry and to himself, bringing the warmth of everyday life to Liangshan Marsh and forging a steadfast purpose in a world torn by war. He gives the heroes a warm place to belong and brings peace to the people amid the chaos. In the passionate jianghu of Water Margin, he takes a different path, one that brings warmth to everyday life while protecting the land.
