After Hearing the Su Family Head's Inner Thoughts, I Went OOC

A fanfic based on The Tale of the Dark River, with two male leads. [System + mind-reading + adorable contrast] A pampered-by-everyone comedy and redemption story

Core hook: I’m the only one who can hear the assassins’ out-of-character thoughts.

CP: Su Muyu / Su Changhe

Setup: The heroine transmigrates into the Dark River as a weak female assassin, a disciple of the Medicine King Valley, who was originally fated to die within three episodes. She gets bound to a “rant energy collection System” and has to cling to powerful figures to stay alive. She can also hear what the Su brothers are thinking.

Highlights and fresh twists:

On the outside: Su Muyu holds an umbrella, his face cold and stern, his killing intent palpable.

In his head: “I think I forgot to feed the cat before I left today... This umbrella’s a bit heavy. I should get a lighter one.”

On the outside: Su Changhe is cruel and ruthless, bent on turning everyone into living corpses.

In his head: “I have to work overtime killing people again. What a pain. I want to go home and sleep. Why hasn’t my little brother come to see me yet?”

Plot hook: To stay alive, the heroine has no choice but to grit her teeth and take on seemingly suicidal missions that actually cater to the powerful figures’ inner thoughts. Everyone thinks she’s asking for trouble, but she ends up becoming the person who understands them best.
